The Competence Center for Innovative Procurement (KOINNO) is carried out by the Association for Supply Chain Mangement, Procurement and Logistics (BME e.V.) on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK). All KOINNO services are free of charge.
The aim of the competence center is to permanently strengthen the innovation orientation of public procurement in Germany and to increase the proportion of innovation procurement in the total volume of public procurement in Germany.
To achieve this, KOINNO offers the following services:
Consultation
We advise German public institutions at all levels (federal and state authorities, cities, municipalities, police, fire departments, public utilities, universities, hospitals...) The aim of KOINNO consulting is to increase the innovative strength of public procurement.
Information
KOINNO provides you with comprehensive information on the topic of innovative procurement, e.g. in the form of guidelines, white papers, infographics or practical examples. Our website, the KOINNOmagazine and the e-mail newsletter provide you with regular updates.

We are part of various events related to public procurement, sustainability, e-mobility and more. We also organize several free seminars every year, e.g. about procurement law, contract negotiations, procurement processes and more.
Certification
As part of the KOINNO certification, public clients can be certified in a multi-stage process both as an innovative procurement institution and for a procurement project. You will receive valuable recommendations for action to optimize your procurement processes and organization as well as an official award for your successes in the area of innovative public procurement.

For everyone who searches for a quick start into innovation procurement, our elearning courses with over 100 graphics and videos may be the right choice. The elearning courses can be used anywhere and free of charge.
KOINNOvationsplatz
The KOINNOvationsplatz is an intermediary platform designed to facilitate the exchange and identification of innovations for public clients and providers (e.g. start-ups, SMEs).
Public Procurement for companies (suppliers?)
KOINNO supports companies (especially start-ups and SMEs) in participating in public tenders. The goal: more innovative offers for public procurement. To this end, KOINNO offers various services ranging from information on events, e-learning, certification and the KOINNOvationsplatz (e-marketplace).
